Installing the Nvolve Course Creator
To successfully install the Nvolve Course Creator onto Microsoft PowerPoint, you may either watch the instructional video provided below or follow the detailed step-by-step guide located underneath the video.
Before you proceed with the installation of the Nvolve Course Creator for Microsoft PowerPoint, it is essential to confirm whether your version of PowerPoint is 32-bit or 64-bit.
To determine the version of PowerPoint you have installed, launch Microsoft PowerPoint and navigate to the Account section, which can be found in the lower-left corner of the screen upon opening the application.
Next, select "About PowerPoint," which can be found in the centre of the screen. The version of PowerPoint you have installed will be displayed at the top of the About PowerPoint page.
- After verifying your PowerPoint version, you can move forward by downloading the suitable PowerPoint plugin from the Nvolve platform, which can be found in the eLearning courses section.
- Once the download is complete, locate your downloads folder using the file explorer. Right-click on the downloaded zip file and select the option to extract all files. Once the extracted files appear, please right-click on the setup file and select the option to "Run as administrator."
- Should you encounter a notification indicating that your computer has “prevented an unrecognized app from starting,” simply click on “More info” and then select “Run anyway” to proceed with the installation.
- If you encounter an additional administrative pop-up, please click “Allow” or “Yes” to proceed with the installation process. This action will initiate the Installation Wizard.
- When the installation wizard appears, please proceed by selecting the "Next" button.
- On the “Select Installation Folder” window, leave the default folder selected.
- Choose the “Everyone” option to ensure that the program is accessible for all users.
- Click Next.
- Please click the "Next" button to initiate the installation process. You may see a secondary window appear, indicating that drivers are being installed.
- After the installation process is complete, please proceed by clicking the "Close" button to finalize the installation.
- Launch PowerPoint.
- Upon your first launch of PowerPoint following the installation, a pop-up will appear prompting you to install the Add-in. Simply click on the "Install" button. Once this step is completed, you will notice the addition of an "Nvolve" tab at the top of your PowerPoint interface, indicating that the installation was successful.
After completing the installation, it is important to replace the Template folder on your local drive.
Replacing the template folder
To replace the template folder follow the steps shown in the video (the Template.zip file is found under step 1 of the step by step guide below) or follow the step by step guide below the video.
- Download the Template.zip file from the link below
Click here to Download the Template file - Extract this on your computer. Right click on the downloaded zip file and select "Extract All".
- Click on "Extract" on the pop-up window
- Once the file has been extracted, open the folder and you will find a template folder within this. Copy the entire folder.
- Access your computer's C drive and proceed to the directory C:\ProgramData\GroupLearner\Group Learner PPT.
- Inside, you will find a folder labelled ‘Template.’ It is necessary to replace this folder with the Template folder you copied in step 4.
